Q2: What is the size of the Swann Box container?
A: Our Swann Box is the perfect container for all your personal or business goods. This measure 8’ x 5’x 7’, it has a capacity of 250cu ft, is the equivalent of a 35 sq ft room and has a weight capacity if 1 Tonne.

Q3: What is the Swann Box Made from?
A: The Swann Box is made from hard wearing Ply Wood.  Our containers are all brand new and are manufactured under a quality system to a BSEN ISO9001-1994

Q4: What is the size of the Swann Document Storage Box?
Our Archive Box is ideal for all your documents and paperwork. This measures 385mm x 328mm x 271, it has a capacity of 1.21 cubic feet and a max weight allowance of 15KG

Q5: How secure are the containers?
A: Our facility is monitored by the REDCARE alarm system 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. This system is linked directly to both the Police and Fire services by telephone and wireless radio ensuring that our systems are continually backed up. We also operate infrared intruder laser alarm systems and digital monitored CCTV for both internal and external coverage.  For extra security, the Swann Boxes can be stacked up to 35 ft high and can be positioned sideways with doors face to face.

Q6: Is there a limit of box intake?
A: No! We value all our clients and no customer is too big or too small. We welcome all new business (domestic and trade) and offer the same excellent quality regardless of the size of your order.

Q7: How much does the storage cost?
A: We offer a bespoke pricing structure so prices vary depending on the services your organisation requires. Contact us now to arrange a FREE, private consultation, with one of our dedicated team, to discuss your individual requirements.

Q8: Are there hidden extras?
A: We will create a tailor made quotation based on your individual requirements and budget to ensure that every possibility has been considered. We will run through the quotation with you in a no-nonsense and straight forward way so that YOU are 100% confident of ALL the charges. There will be NO hidden extras.

Q9: Will I have to be tied to a minimum contract term?
A: On Swann Box Storage we would require 1 month notice to terminate
A: On Document Storage there is a minimum contract term of 1 year.

Q10: Will I have to sign a lease?
A: NO, just a simple storage agreement.

Q11: Why shouldn't I go with the cheaper option of self storage?
A: A self storage option may look like a more economical choice to start with. But they do not provide a managed system, collections or delivery service and a high majority of people have access to the same area, making it a security risk to your vital records, business goods or personal effects.  See our Swann Box Benefits page for further details.

Q12: How do I get my belongings to your warehouse?
A: At Swann with have our own fleet of vehicles to transport all your documents or belongings to and from our facility. Our Swann Box can be delivered direct to your door to guarantee a seamless and stress free service.

Q13: Am I protected against loss and damage?
A: Yes, but only in circumstances where it is proven that Swann Storage Ltd is negligent.

Q14: Are my belongings insured whilst they are in storage?
A: Our own insurance liability is limited and we highly recommend that clients’ items are covered by either household or business policies.

Q15: Can I store anything I want?
A: Whilst we are able to store most things there are obvious limitations. We cannot store any of the following:
Anything perishable, no food or plants
No weapons of any kind
No live pets, animals or reptiles,
Nothing toxic, flammable or explosive i.e. gas cylinders, paint or fuel
Nothing stolen!
We know that this is really common sense, but we have to make the point!

Q16: Will my documents and belongings be safe?
A: YES, our security systems and staff vetting guarantee the safety of your documents and belongings stored within our facility. Our State of the Art Software system tracks all items to further ensure safe storage during your storage term.

Q17: How easily can I access my Swann Box / Archive Box?
A: For the Swann Box, Just contact us by 10.00am on the day prior to your intended collection or visit to site.
A: Upon request and with written confirmation, your Archive Box can either be accessed by you or delivered to your door within the following timescales:

At least 1 hours notice on the day you wish to view or access your archive box on site at our facility
By 17.00hrs the day prior to the delivery of your documents by our own drivers
We can access your archive box on your behalf and scan the documents to you by electronic mail

Q18: How much notice is required prior to storing or removing my goods from the Swann Box?
A: Normally 24hrs notice is required for either collection or removal of goods from storage.

Q19: What do I need to do if I want to permanently vacate my container?
A: We simply require 1 month’s notice, together with full settlement of the account by way of cleared funds, to arrange the permanent removal of your goods from site.

Q20: What is the procedure if I what to permanently withdraw my archive documents?
A: We will require written confirmation from you to clarify the items to wish to permanently withdraw. A permanent retrieval fee will be made for all items withdrawn.

Q21: Can you supply archive boxes, packaging or cartons?
A: Yes we supply our own archive boxes, for all your document storage, along with a full and varied range of packaging to assist you with your move into storage including bubble-wrap, tape, mattress and furniture protectors, wardrobe cartons, with a hanging rail, and 2, 4 and 6cu ft cardboard boxes. Please contact us for our full range.
